SYNOPSIS - THE VICAR OF DIBLEY
When the aging, dearly-beloved vicar of Dibley becomes the dearly-departed, the parish council request a new preacher to fill the vacancy. Expecting another man, they are startled by the arrival of Geraldine Granger – a progressive, chocolate-loving, rock-&-roll-playing… woman!
With the locals in uproar, council chairman David Horton seeks to have her dismissed, but Geraldine goes about her business, seeking to win over the villagers through her ministry.
Follow Geraldine’s adventures as she navigates the quirky characters and charming eccentricities of the small village of Dibley, delivering vast amounts of humour, warmth, and even a wedding!

CHAIR’S PRODUCTION NOTES
Good evening, and welcome to our latest production: The Vicar of Dibley.
Are you in for a giggle? No no no no no no… YES!
It has been a hoot from start to finish, with the most wonderful cast and creatives, not least our fervent director, Helen. What a whirlwind of creativity she is, whipping this production into shape with all her might. Thank you, Helen, from all of us.
In February we still had no play lined up for May, finding ourselves scrambling to get something together – not a situation we often find ourselves in. We had a lot of potential plays in the pipeline but lacked an available director at this time. Helen, having previously directed Dibley elsewhere, stepped into the breach and offered to provisionally direct Dibley BUT with a significant caveat! Helen was adamant we needed two new younger actors to convincingly portray Alice and Hugo. And so, the search for two younger members began; our recruitment search went into overdrive. We are beyond delighted to welcome our two new members, Ellie Laws and Jon Cook. What a match made in Dibley they are!
Proceeds from the performance licence and monies raised from The Monday Players production of The Vicar of Dibley will go towards Comic Relief; we are thrilled to be supporting this fabulous charity.
Thank you to you, our audience, our patrons, and honorary members for continuing to support The Monday Players in what is now our 32nd year.
Now sit back, relax, and let us entertain you with our
wholly holy offering.
Nicki Clay
